Does US Postal Service mail move during the weekends or on Federal holidays?

I know that here is no delivery service on Sundays and holidays and all post offices are closed, but is mail moving via truck or plane or does everything come to a stop? I am asking because I sent a package via priority mail on the day before Veteran's Day and am wondering if it won't move until Monday.Does US Postal Service mail move during the weekends or on Federal holidays?
Yes, they move between hubs, but not by truck to distribution locations on weekends.

Apparently mail IS processed on holidays...at least it was today Veterans Day. I was expecting a package and this evening I checked the status thru USPS website and got this message:



Your item was processed through our LOS ANGELES, CA 90052 facility on November 11, 2011 at 3:45 am

It does move on Sundays not so sure abt holidays.
