This is a scam! Somebody is trying to verify your e-mail address so it can be sold to spammers, or they are trying to get your bank account info so you can be ripped off later! Forward such a mail to:

spoof@yahoo.com

phishing@cc.yahoo-inc.com

Federal Trade Commission spam@uce.gov

Treasury Department 419.fcd@usss.treas.gov

Here's how to do the forwarding bit: click the crtl key and at the same time click the "forward" button to forward a message as an attachment, mac users should click the "apple" key and click "forward" simultaneously.

Don't trust any email asking for user ID and password. Contact Yahoo directly and ask if they sent you a confirmation email. Most likely they didn't and can alert people to the possible phishing scam.Has anyone received a request from Yahoo Mail Service?
DO NOT reply. This is a phishing scam attempting to get you to give them all your personal info. It's not from Yahoo, just delete it and ignore it. Good luck and be careful.
