It's really not Yahoo's problem if you use an insecure password. Any freemail account will get hacked if you use the name of your pet for a password and then splash the name of your pets and your fremail address all over Facebook (etc).
Passwords should be like XtrfG#5cGM . Different password for every account.
Also when it comes to secret questions for password recovery, your mother's maiden name is "ChevyNova" or "rhubarb" - something you can remember, but not her real maiden name. Your first pet was named "applepie." Get the idea?
